History of *HFE*

Hellfire Empire has been around for over 10+ years now.  Starting off we were huge in Heretic 2 for many years then finally broke off leaders into different games.  At the time we went from Heretic 2 to Unreal Tournament and Tribes.  Both games grew and grew much like the Heretic 2 group so we founded the idea of Nations.  Each game we play is a different Nation. From UT and Tribes we broke off into Halflife CS, MOH, CoD, Ut2k3&4, Tribes3 all the way to present in Battlefield 2 and of course WoW.  We've played many games and met a lot of people along the way, many that are with us today have been with us since the beginning.  *HFE* is a 501c3 Non-profit foundation sponsored by MANY companies.

General Rule stuff:

Adhere to your EULA that you agreed to upon registration with Blizzard.

Uphold the honor of the clan at all times. You represent not only the guild, but Hellfire Empire as well.  Our reputation should make our members proud and others happy to have us around. Don't let your guild mates down.

Respect all members regardless of rank. Be thoughtful of others even if joking.

Integrity and Maturity is expected regardless of age.

The Guild Master and Officers are the only persons that speak on behalf of the clan in political matters.

All activities involving the game are voluntary. No demands should be put upon any player's time nor resources.

Ask not what the clan can do for you, ask what you can do for the clan. Members are expected to happily work together for the betterment of all. Don't expect more than you give. There are many ways to contribute to improve the community we are trying to build. A few examples: If you have a profession, provide the services freely in exchange for the materials to further your skill. Ask if your guild mates need an item (if you can afford it) before selling it. Host an event. Help someone with a difficult quest.

Stand behind your clan. Support them and help them stay positive. It is often difficult to maintain our high standard without becoming frustrated. Encourage integrity, praise virtue, and respect sacrifice. If you feel someone acts remarkably let it be known so that all members may be proud. In combat, honor your enemy by dying well, and when victorious thank them for the challenge. Don't let your brethren face the enemy alone even if it means certain death. Let the enemy know Hellfire Empire is united and will face death together before being dishonored individually.

The guild belongs to all members and its future depends on the contributions of everyone. It is everyone's responsibility. Treat all members as equals.

Respect is earned.

Participation is expected of active players; this includes the forums and in-game channels. Players are expected to work together when online when possible. Attendance on raid events and meetings are highly encouraged. No one will be required to come to the events just encouraged. Placing real-life concerns over
game-concerns will never be questioned. If you decide you will be going inactive for a period of time, notify one of the officers and we will keep you on the roster. Inactive players that do not announce their disappearance will be removed from the roster after 1 month of inactivity. If an inactive player comes back from inactivity they may rejoin the roster.

Leaving the guild: Depending on how a player has left they may or may not be able to rejoin the roster.  Officers would have to vote on the rejoin.

Raid System:

A word of consistency:

Progression is conquered by consistency. I understand it's not reasonable to make 100% of the raids and never be late. 70% is not an unreasonable requirement for a 30 day raid attendance average.  There is nothing more frustrating to spend 6 hours one night wiping to a boss until we finally get the strat only to repeat the same 6 hours of wiping the very next week to an entirely new crew. It is counter productive to our progression, repair bills, and moral.

Giving points for boss attempts, including points for alternates:

One problem with our zero sum dkp is the ability to award points for attempts on bosses. Wipe after wipe without a reward for weeks at a time in some cases. To help incourage our progression and reward it as we progress we have devised a way to award points for boss attempts. These points are different for each boss and are a total of the collective point worth of the boss then placed in a formula for a point per hour worth. When a boss is first killed the point worth for that hour is doubled for one time only. Attempt points are maintained until the boss is considered farm status by the officers.

Points for alternates must follow these conditions to recieve any points. The alternate must be at the instance door ready to recieve invite and zone in within 2 minutes of notice. The player MAY be on an alternate character on vent and guild chat so long as they can switch within 2 minute of notice. Alternates recieve HALF of the point value earned from those inside the instance.

Guild Groups for Raiding:

**2 New Ranks Added = Veteran Raider & Raider

Veteran Raider class reserved for Veteran's with a minimum of 70% raid attendance. Weekly rosters will have Veteran Raiders listed before raiders and the other ranks.

Raider class reserved for 70% raid attendance for non veterans.

Member & Veteran classes remain for those that are in guild but have less than a 70% raid attendance.

To get from an initiate, member, or veteran rank to a "raider" rank simply signup for the 3 main 40 man raid days (Wed/Sat/Sun) 70% of the time for 30 days. You MUST get dkp as an alternate for this percentage to register when we look at the attendance ratings once a month. Your rank has to do with who makes the signup list first however the class requirements MUST be met still and of those ranks in each class it's first come first serve. Whether you make the roster as a main or an alternate you will still get dkp provided you meet the requirements listed above. Even as an alternate your raid attendance is recorded.

Raid priorities when a raid roster is compiled is under these conditions:

1.) Class Requirements
2.) Officer>Veteran Raider>Raider>Veteran>Member>Initiate
3.) First come first serve within each of the ranks

Looting:

We have 2 Loot systems, Zero Sum DKP for our 40 Man Raids, and a weighted rank roll system for our smaller groups that may or may not be used.. up to the individuals  and we usually end up just rand 100 rolling. Please see: LOOT SYSTEM Link

Conduct

Conduct: The following actions are considered unacceptable behaviour: excessive profanity and foul language in public; cheating or exploiting game systems; harrassment; hostility to other members and or innocents; disrespect for the team/group or its leadership; unjustified or griefplaying (player-killing, thievery,
training, looting, corpse-camping, ninja-looting).

Resolving conflicts with another member. First step is to go to that member and address the problem. Most times that person will apologize and the issue will be resolved. If the problem persists, then take the problem to a Leader who will resolve the conflict.

How to resolve an issue with the Team and/or Group. Sometimes there will come a time when a member has a problem with an interpretation of a rule or way of conduct in a game. If you have a problem with or question a standing rule; or you have any doubt regarding an action you want to take...then DO NOT DO IT. Instead contact
an officer immediately and ask. Ignorance is not acceptable.

Clan Loyalty

Clan Loyalty: No stealing, scamming, or malicious actions against fellow clan members will be tolerated. It is important to honor that commitment while protecting and helping the members to the best of your ability. Turning on a member or purposely causing distress is considered a violation of this rule.

Please don't use offensive language

All players are eligible to be promoted, however the creation of this opportunity is entirely up to the individual. If you want a promotion, you must prove yourself. Consideration for promotion depends on several factors: Dedication to the clan, following the rules, leadership abilities, maturity, and the ability to work with a team. Popularity doesn't even register on the radar in this one, so don't even think about kissing ass, it may actually hurt your chances.

Initiate Raiding Rule Set

So here is how this works. Initiates read this and if they do not wish to comply with the SOLUTIONS sections they simply /gquit. It saves us and them time and frustration.

PROBLEMS:

Initiates from other guilds do not know how we perform raids. They come to our guild and are not used to the way we raid. They have developed a raid style with their previous guild(s) that does not mesh well with our raiding techniques.

•  Initiates do not understand our loot rules.

•  Initiates do not understand our communication techniques. They may not have used voice chat before.

SOLUTIONS:

To be effective in our raids, initiates need to know the *HFE* way and follow it. No questions. Period!

•  Suggestions for change are welcome and encouraged AFTER the raid or if asked advice in situations. No exceptions. The RAID Leader LEADS the raid. If he moves, you move. If he stops, you stop. If he tells you to do something, you do it.

•  For 10-40 man raids; You ONLY attack the mobs that the MA (Main Assist) says to attack unless otherwise directed. If you need to know how to create a macro that will make this simple for you, contact an *HFE* officer, They will help you.

•  If it is your first time wth *HFE* in an instance, it is your job to WATCH. We don't care how many times you were in the instance with your old guild. You do not loot, hold loot, look at loot, think about loot, mention loot, or comment on loot. If you do well and pay attention, you will be back many times for loot in the future. If you are not paying attention, chances are that you will not be back to that instance with us for a very long time, if ever. I hope you enjoyed your loot.

•  Initiates, if you have broadband (cable, dsl, etc.), you are highly suggested to be at least LISTENING through Ventrilo, to raid with us. I strongly suggest that you use head phones. Contact an *HFE* officer for the Ventrilo connection IP and security credentials. If you have dial-up or some other reason why you can't run Ventrilo, we will work with you to make sure that you are listening and understanding what, why, and how we do things. Understand and be patient with us because your training will take more time.

•  If you want to know why these rules are in effect, you must first follow them. Only AFTER you follow them will they be explained to you. If you cannot accept someone elses leadership, this is not the guild for you.
